1.4 SQ Podcast Episode 1 – What is the Scientific Quilter?
November 10, 2009This is the first episode of the Scientific Quilter Podcast. I am still working on technical issues, so any patience and/or help would be appreciated.
The completed applique quilt top mentioned in my podcast that took 4 (5) weeks to complete.
The pictures of the other projects I am working on will have to wait – I have to spread out my pictures so it looks like I am doing a lot with only a few projects in place!
Here is some places that I mentioned in the podcast. I will have a whole list on the side of the blogs I follow in the future, but since I mention these in the show specifically, here they are:

Hey! Great show – please keep them coming!!!!
Yay! A new quilty podcast! I love your point of view. I put a link to your blog on my own blog. The more the merrier!
Along these lines, until fairly recently, I was the world’s worst cook. But then I discovered Alton Brown’s show “Good Eats,” and his unique scientific approach to cooking finally got through to me. Now I understand WHY foods are cooked the way they are, and now I consider myself to be a good cook and I develop my own recipes. So a scientific approach to a crafty subject like quilting is a most excellent and unique idea!
I hope you enjoy the process, and that you find continued success in your endeavor. Not that I’m any expert (being fairly new to podcasting myself), please let me know if I can provide any advice. As you know, I have one of those incredibly structured podcasts — if I didn’t have show notes and structure, I’d NEVER podcast! Each of us has his or her own style — I know you’ll find your way in the Great World Of Podcasting! Don’t get discouraged if you don’t have a lot of comments right away. It takes a while to gain listenership.
Your Baltimore Album quilt is beautiful, and I’m impressed that you’re so accomplished, being a new quilter. Jumping right into one of the most difficult quilts reminds me of me, too!

P.S. Sorry for the LOOONG comment!
Oops! I left my welcome-to-podcasting message on the wrong post. I can’t wait to hear more. Love the quilt top! If you never get to a class on binding that is ok – there are tons of books out there that can teach you the basics without too much hair pulling. 🙂
